National Nutrition Month®
National Nutrition Month is a nutrition education and information campaign created annually in March by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The campaign focuses attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. The theme for 2015 was "Bite into a Healthy Lifestyle," which encourages everyone to adopt eating and physical activity plans that are focused on consuming fewer calories, making informed food choices and getting daily exercise in order to achieve and maintain a healthy weight, reduce the risk of chronic disease and promote overall health.

Promoting RDNs Far and Wide, and in Times Square!
In celebration of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day and in honor of the 2015 National Nutrition Month theme "Bite into a Healthy Lifestyle," we asked our members to share "What's the best way to bite into a healthy lifestyle?"
From more than 270 thoughtful and inspirational testimonials from members that confirm and support the value of RDN services, the winner of the third annual Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day contest is Adam Burda, MS, RDN, LDN from West Virginia University.
"The best way to bite into a healthier lifestyle is through balance. Whether it’s balancing your caloric intake, balancing your physical activity, balancing your stress level or balancing your personal life, proper health requires a continual, multifactorial approach. Starting your day out with a balanced, nutrient dense meal, is the best way to ensure you are taking a balanced bite out of the day ahead of you."
Adam was featured on an electronic banner that appeared over New York City’s Times Square on Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day – March 11 – and in Eat Right Weekly.
